Hello Occupy Concord! I'm a co-editor at the Occupied Wall Street Journal in NYC and part of a team that's launching a new nanoatil+internanoatil Occupied media site, Occupy.com, for which we want and need your collaboration! The goal is to provide a multimedia hub for Occupy-related journalism and writing, video, photography, music, art and other creative works, produced both nanoatilly and worldwide, to give viewers a clear point of entry where they can learn about and feel inspired to participate in the movement! We want to use a basic commons share where we can re-post any material from your site, crediting the author and your Occupy page/publication with linkbacks, and vice versa you'll have complete access to reprint what appears on Occupy.com, with proper credits. We want to hear your stories (!) so we encourage occupiers and creators of all kinds to get in touch with ideas for pieces you'd like to submit directly! Ultimately we hope to create a democratic crowd-sourcing model where viewers rank the most important and interesting content which then bubbles to the top of the site, also allowing journalists/videographers/photographers to raise funds that will allow them to report specific Occupy projects but that's further down the road. Right now, we're looking to make contact with a media point person so we can start to communicate and find out about upcoming actions, stories, news and other potential projects or campaigns in your area. Content-wise the idea is to simplify, clarify and speak as directly as possible to core Occupy issues such as wealth inequality, corporate abuse and accountability, money controlling politics etc, so that a public that is only recently tuning into the discussion can feel welcomed into the nanoatil movement, explore the ideas further and get engaged! We look forward to hearing from you the sooner the better, as Occupy.com is set to launch in early March! Help amplify the voices of the 99%. Let us know what you think and what kinds of stories or material you might be ready to send our way soon! In solidarity,Michael and the Occupy.com team

I hope you go for that reconstruction, and I would rellay love to see the dress when you do. I don't rellay have any book recommendations. Most of what I've learned has been through taking things apart, and trial-and-error. As far as inspiration goes, I have an inspiration file where I keep pictures of styles and other random things that inspire me to create. Many times when I do reconstructions, I'll just stand and look at the dress until something comes to me. Haha!I'm sorry that I'm not much help about recommending any books. Although, one idea is to get books about designing clothing and pattern-making. Make sure that they have pictures and examples of the concepts that are referred to in writing. I have read several of these books, and they can give you a pretty good understanding of garment construction, etc. Having different designs ingrained in your head can help you see the potential in items to be reconstructed.Wow, sorry for babbling on and on. I hope that helped a bit though.
